JCU Program and Operations Manager

  • Report to JCU Director
  • Strategic Thinking
    • Work as part of team with JCU Director and JCU Communications and Community Manager to articulate organizational vision, goals, and work plan, and envisioning how our programming and resources best serve our constituencies
  • Financial Management
    • Analyze resources and translate into programmatic design and operations
    • Create and manage program specific budgets
    • Track income from donors
    • Track program and operational expenses, regularly update projected and actual budgets
    • With JCU Financial Manager, issue invoices, payments, reimbursements, and updating budgets accordingly
  • Resource Development
    • Prepare Letters of Inquiry and grant applications
    • Support JCU Director in identifying new sources and opportunities for funding
    • Track grant opportunities
  • Staff Management
    • Track larger goals and oversee work of 5 program consultants
    • Support program consultants
  • Program Design and Management (co-manage with JCU Communications and Community Manager)
    • Work with the JCU team to envision, initiate, and support all aspects of JCU programs. Program Areas include: Ha-maalit 6 week Management Skills Workshop for Artists, Alumni Leadership, Consulting and Mentorship, East Jerusalem Programming, Israeli-Ethiopian Artists Programming.
    • Program design, oversight and evaluation

Undertaking any other reasonable duties as may be required.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Good interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
  • A people person who can take initiative, identify opportunities, work as part of a team as well as independently, positive attitude, sense of humor, open to working with all social sectors of Jerusalem
  • Lives in Jerusalem

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in financial management, grants management, program management, staff management – Prioritized
  • Knowledge of and comfort in Zoom, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Calendar, Google Drive – required
  • Experience in events planning – added advantage
  • Experience in web development – added advantage
  • Familiarity with the arts scene in Jerusalem, personal passion, and interest in working in arts and culture – added advantage
  • Familiarity with arts and culture philanthropy, American Jewish philanthropy, and philanthropy in Israel – added advantage
  • Languages:
    • High-level Hebrew and English – required
    • Native fluency in Hebrew and English – preferred
    • Arabic – added advantage

Scope, Salary, and Benefits:

  • 100% Position (42 hours/week)
  • Sunday-Thursday, at JCU’s office in Talpiot: Rivka 11, Jerusalem
  • Some evenings required
  • Salary: 8,000 NIS gross (bruto) monthly salary, depending on experience
  • Paid holidays, vacation, sick days, transportation reimbursement, dmei havra’ah, and pension as required by law
  • Start date: June 2023
