קול קורא – מענק תמיכה מטעם קרן בנימין מץ

הקרן ע"ש בנימין מץ' שמחה להודיע על קול קורא לשנת 2021 -2022, עבור מענק ע"ס 10,000 ש"ח למימון פרויקט המבוסס שיתוף פעולה בין אמנים

הקרן הוקמה בשנת 2018 לזכר חברנו, האמן בן (בנימין) מץ', הודות למאמץ משותף של קהילת האמנות המקומית, אחת לשנתיים הקרן מחזירה לקהילה ע"י תמיכה בפרויקט שיתופי נבחר.

קרן בנימין מץ' שואפת לתמוך בחשיבה מקורית, צורות אמנות חדשות ועשייה רב-תחומית .

הקול קורא לשנת 2021 מבקש להתייחס לעבודות אמנות העוסקות בבד, חומר שהיה קרוב לליבו של מץ' ועמד במרכז כמה פרויקטים שעשה בחייו.  אין זה מפתיע שהרעיון והפעולה הפואטית של הרכבת חוטים בודדים לכדי מצע רישתי אחד היו כל כך מוטבעים בעבודתו של מץ', שגדל בפריז שם עבד בעסקי מכירת הבדים והוקסם מן הצדדים הכלכליים, החברתיים והתרבותיים הגלומים בחומר.

• פרויקט אחד ששותפים בו מינימום שני אנשים.
• אחד המשתתפים חייב להיות אמן חזותי ישראלי שסיים לימודי אמנות ב15 שנים האחרונות.
• יש לציין את מקום ומועד הצגת הפרויקט, הגשות ללא מכתב הזמנה ממוסד או מתחם בו יוצג הפרויקט לא ישקלו.

The Benjamin Mecz Foundation is pleased to announce its 2021 – 2022 open call for a 10,000 NIS grant to fund a collaborative art project .

The Foundation was created in 2018 in memory of our friend, the artist Ben (Benjamin) Mecz, thanks to a joint effort of the art community in Israel. Every two years, the Foundation gives back to the creative community by awarding a grant to fund an artistic collaborative project.

The Benjamin Mecz Foundation strives to support new and original thinking and innovative forms of art. The foundation seeks artist collaborations in different professional fields, and encourages multidisciplinary practice.

The selected theme for this year’s open call is FABRIC

Fabric bears discrete meanings in different languages:  it may refer to the activity of a craftsman, a work of fiction, or even a factory. It seems this word is as flexible as the material itself.

It’s no surprise that the poetic idea and action of assembling single threads together for creating a network was so embedded in Ben's work and close to his heart. Growing  up in Paris, he worked alongside his parents in the fabric selling business and was fascinated by the many economical, social and cultural features of this material.

CONDITIONS TO APPLY

• The grant is awarded to a collaborative project : a group of minimum two people presenting a joint project. Each participant can apply only for one project.
• At least one of the participants must be an Israeli visual artist within 15 years of her\his BA graduation.
• The place and date of the project’s presentation must be stated in the application. Applications without a letter of invitation from the welcoming institution won’t be considered.

• The call for projects for runs until March 17, 2021. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered. The results will be announced by the end of June 2021.
