שגרירות ישראל ביפן בשיתוף גלריית WAITINGROOM בטוקיו ו- Yamakiwa Art Hotel במחוז נייגאטה (Niigata) גאים להשיק תוכנית רזידנסי חדשה ומרגשת.
התוכנית, המתפרשת על פני שני מיקומים ביפן, היא קודם כל הזדמנות נדירה ליצור בתוך סביבה עוצרת נשימה בטבע הכפרי של יפן, זאת לצד חשיפה בתערוכה בגלריה מובילה במרכז השוקק של טוקיו הבירה.

- אמן יחיד
- שני אמנים המעוניינים לקחת חלק בפרויקט זה לצד זה (בפורמט זה יש להגיש הצעה משותפת לשני האמנים)
האמנים המשתתפים יתחילו בעבודה חדשה או ימשיכו עבודה קיימת בזמן שהייתם ב-Yamakiwa , ויציגו את העבודה המוגמרת בסוף השהייה בגלריה WAITINGROOM.

New Artist in Residency for Israeli Artists
WAITINGROOM in Tokyo in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel in Japan and Yamakiwa Art Hotel in Niigata invite you to apply for this new and exciting residency program. We invite Israeli artists to explore the possibility of creating in one of the most breath taking locations in Japan as well as presenting their work in a leading local gallery.
We wish to enable a new creation by Israeli artists in this beautiful village of Japan and introduce a new voice to interact with the local art scene in the heart of the dazzling city, Tokyo.
We look to host interesting, thought-provoking artists.
Program summary
In the frame work of this program we are looking to receive applications of:
- Individual artist
or
• Two artists who wish to take part in this project alongside each other
In this case – artists should propose a double show with a theme and a clear description of the process for the residency period as well as for the proposed exhibition.
- a) Creation of a new work: participants will begin a new work or continue the work on an existing work while at Yamakiwa Art Hotel in Japan and present the finished work at the end of the stay at the Waitingroom Gallery.
- b) Education/training: participants will present the progress of his/her work being created as part of the program.
- c) Taking part in “Gallery Talk” and other Gallery event.
Yamakiwa
Yamakiwa Art Hotel is and alternative art space set in a traditional Japanese farmer’s house in mountains near Niigata. It runs residency programme for artists and curators that supports their research and exhibition making. The art hotel which started in 2016 invites visitors to spend the night at the gallery and have a closer experience with the surroundings, eating local food prepared by the village neighbours.
Our aim is to establish close connection between art and life within the gallery’s setting as a ‘house’, brought through the direct and indirect cooperation among creative practitioners, visitors and local residents.

האדרכלית עליאל קיי, שותפה עמיתה במשרד קיסלוב קיי אדריכלים ומרצה ותיקה במחלקה לאדריכלות, נבחרה לכהן כראש בית-הספר לאדריכלות באקדמיה לאמנות ועיצוב בצלאל בירושלים. קיי תחליף את האדריכלית פרופ' אלס ורבקל, שעמדה בראש בית-הספר בשנים האחרונות.
קיי, בוגרת המחלקה בהצטיינות, עבדה כמרכזת ומנחת סטודיו שנה א', ובהמשך כמנחת סטודיו הפביליון. קיסלוב קיי אדריכלים זכה בתחרויות מרכזיות, ובהן תכנון קמפוס החינוך ברמת-אפעל, בניין העירייה וכיכר העיר אילת, הפיתוח של האנגר 2+3 בנמל יפו, המרכז הקהילתי ברמת-אביב הירוקה וקמפוס החינוך באור-יהודה. קיי היא מן המקימים של "קבוצה וכו'", קבוצה יוצרת העוסקת באקטיביזם חברתי ובחקר המרחב הציבורי. עבודותיה הוצגו בביאנלה הבינלאומית לאדריכלות ברוטרדם, בביאנלה לאדריכלות ואדריכלות נוף בבת-ים, במוזיאון ישראל, בבית הנסן בירושלים ובמסגרות אחרות. זוכת פרס קרן אמריקה-ישראל ושני פרסי הצטיינות מטעם בצלאל.
מוזיאון רמת גן לאמנות ישראלית הודיע על רכישת שבע עבודות אמנות ישראלית לאוסף הקבע שלו, במימון קרן הרכישה על שם צילה ירון ז"ל. סך הרכישות לשנים 2025–2026 עמד על 200,000 ש"ח, ובהן עבודות של זיוה ילין, אלהם רוקני, אמירה זיאן, מיטל כץ מינרבו, חנאן אבו חוסיין, אפרת גל-נור וורד אהרונוביץ.
