Supporting exhibitions that foster dialogue and exchange across cultures, disciplines, and borders. Application deadline: September 30, 2026, 11:59PM EST. Eligible organizations may apply online here.

Artis is pleased to announce its annual open call for Exhibition Grants, supporting ambitious solo and group presentations around the world that feature work by artists from Israel. Museums, nonprofit arts organizations, biennials, festivals, and other contemporary art institutions around the world are invited to apply for exhibitions taking place in 2027 and 2028.

Artis supports ambitious, critically engaged projects that respond to the urgent issues shaping our world today. We support exhibitions that give artists the freedom to experiment with new ideas, expand their global visibility, and build new pathways for partnership, connections, and exchange across cultures and borders. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to amplifying a multiplicity of artistic voices, practices, histories, perspectives, and lived experiences.

Eligibility

Exhibition grants are awarded directly to international organizations—including museums, nonprofit arts organizations, biennials, and festivals, in support of exhibitions that present one or more artists from Israel in a global context of dialogue and exchange.

Artis works with artists from Israel, including those who may identify as Israeli, Palestinian, Arab, or Jewish, whose practices offer new perspectives on history and the present, lived experiences, and identity. The grant program supports international institutions of varying scales and in a diverse range of geographies. Artis prioritizes projects that include meaningful opportunities for the public to engage with the presenting artist(s) and their work. This may include organizing public programs or publishing a catalog in conjunction with the exhibition.

Exhibition grants may not be used to support projects in Israel, independent artist projects, tuition fees, residencies, projects at commercial galleries, for-profit enterprises, religious programs, or general operating costs. Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions and eligibility requirements before applying.

Application Process

Submissions close September 30, 2026, at 11:59PM EST. Eligible organizations may apply online here.

Applicants will be notified about the status of their application in February 2027. Applications are reviewed by an international panel of contemporary art professionals.

Artis supports approximately 15 projects per calendar year. Organizations may request up to $10,000, depending on a project’s scope and budget. Average grant awards vary depending on the request. Artis believes in paying artists for their work and encourages applicant organizations to include artist fees, stipends, and other forms of direct compensation for artists in application budgets.

Please email Artis at grants@artiscontemporary.org with questions that are not answered on our website.
